Saugeen Series

Somewhat of a paradox, our Saugeen Series canoes look traditional from a distance but under the water they incorporate hull shapes that have been carefully designed to improve their handling characteristics. Modern science has given us the tools to solve some age-old design dilemmas - to build canoes which track well but maintain manoeuvrability - to get the stability you need without sacrificing performance - the Saugeen Series canoes achieve this without losing touch with their Canadian heritage. All the Saugeens feature shallow arch hulls for stability, a shoe keel to protect the hull when grounding and aid tracking slightly, and full ends that provide more room than in most other canoes of a similar length. This results in canoes that are very easy to paddle for the occasional paddler and a pleasure for those with more experience.
